Tiliter grows at pace as global retailers turn to innovative AI tech

COVID may have restricted our movement in the last year. But, it hasn't stopped Tiliter from bringing powerful software and hardware computer vision products to more retailers across Europe, the US and West Asia.

Supermarkets' need to drive efficiency, streamline processes, and offer a convenient customer experience means that innovative retail tech demand is more significant than ever. Large grocery chains across the world are turning to Tiliter supermarket tech to deliver. And not just to supply retail identification solutions that help them automate their manual processes and bring their customers the latest way to shop, but AI tech that's accessible to all and easy to use. So, what's got these retailers so excited? Let's take a look.

Combining Aussie tech with European efficiency

Tiliter AI Scales, which use deep learning to identify retail products and other objects, integrate with scan and go mobile checkout apps that are already in use in many major European grocery chains.

Our European customers are already leaders in self-service checkouts across the continent, and drive efficiency by embracing emerging technologies. For these companies, an innovative approach and a need to streamline their processes mean that technology is already part of their DNA. By adopting produce identification technology, they can continue to focus on productivity, automate their processes and make shopping even more convenient for their customers in a competitive market.

Launching AI Scales + Printer in West Asia

Through one of our champion resellers in Europe, Idol-Mea, we're delighted to welcome a massive supermarket chain in West Asia, another customer adopting our AI Scales. Our computer vision tech shows a barcode onscreen, which shoppers simply print off and attach to their shopping for scanning at checkout.

With shoppers in the region expecting fast product identification and a COVID-safe shopping experience, the demand for smart retail technology like barcode printing is on the rise. Tiliter's product recognition solution is at the forefront of development in this space.

Taking a bigger bite in the US

Tiliter's retail applications don't stop at scales. Our AI Checkout Solution integrates with existing POS checkouts or self-serve checkouts, helping our customers enjoy the benefits of fast, accurate product identification without the need for additional IT infrastructure or complicated installs. With pre-trained devices that don't need a constant internet connection, stores large and small are up and running fast.

POS provider Retail Data Systems (RDS) is now officially a Tiliter reseller, bringing our game-changing computer vision tech to more supermarkets across North America.

Tiliter checkout tech is being integrated into RDS POS checkouts with cashiers at large retailers in the US. This saves the cashiers from remembering and manually entering every PLU code and helps them avoid selecting incorrect items.

Retail Data Systems (RDS) is well-established as the largest provider of Point of Sale (POS) products and retail technology in North America, so we're excited to be embarking on this partnership with them. The company is known for its unique, one-call support, providing service to over 20,000 retailers across across North America. Plus, supermarkets integrating Tiliter's innovative supermarket technology with their POS systems now have the reassurance of RDS's trusted 24/7 local service and support.

Growth at home

Working with another of our resellers here in Australia, our self-serve checkout system is up and running in a number of independent supermarkets across the country, helping the company to improve process efficiency and prevent fraud.

Self-checkout theft accounts for almost 4% of retail inventory, compared to 1.5% at checkouts with cashiers, according to a study done by the University of Leicester. With Tiliter’s tech in place, customers can’t select incorrect items, because the computer vision software knows exactly what’s being scanned.

"It is encouraging to see a healthy demand for innovative computer vision tech to improve the shopping experience, reduce touchpoints and offer a quicker checkout. This is an exciting phase of growth for the Tiliter team." - Martin Karafilis, Tiliter Co-Founder and COO
